Meet the Team
Tom Callinan is an engaging speaker and facilitator. After quickly rising through the ranks from an award winning sales professional, front line manager, director of sales and ultimately vice president of sales, Tom founded a technology company with the support of an angel investor. His company earned numerous national and industry awards including recognition as an INC 500 company. A public Fortune 500 Company acquired Tom’s company in 1997.
In his eight year career with the public company Tom held numerous functional and general management roles including CFO/VP of Operation for a $335 million business and president of numerous business units culminating in leading the company’s largest business unit at $1.4 billion with 1,100 sales professionals and a total of 6,800 employees. In each of his GM assignments Tom increased revenue and profits, delivering leading results at every level. In addition, Tom’s intense focus on employee development resulted in 90% of North American senior manager and executive position promotions coming from Tom’s business unit despite representing 53% of NA’s revenue.
Since 2006, Tom has been consulting on sales strategy and training sales forces in large and mid-market companies. Tom’s unique experience “on both sides of the desk,” as an entrepreneur leading an INC 500 company and senior executive of a large public company, as well as his time selling and leading sales organizations, provides a strong understanding of the value proposition required to gain market share with new clients or increased share of wallet with current clients.
Tom graduated with high honors from The University of Pennsylvania, Wharton School of Business and lives in Bryn Mawr, PA.
VP of Client Engagement
Gary Schwartz is the VP of Client Engagement with Strategy Development and has over 14 years of broad based experience in the business technology and outsourcing space. Gary was a senior manager with IKON Office Solutions, and later RICOH in sales, finance, and operational roles. In his first year as Area Director of Sales, Gary led a salesforce of 7 managers and 60 reps to 18% revenue growth with a focus to sales process and employee development. As a Strategic Account Sales Manager, Gary was charged with driving IKON’s MDS and Managed Services business. Gary began his tenure with IKON as an Area Director of Financial Operations. In addition to his expertise in sales process and leadership, Gary is well versed in the financial, leasing and marketing aspects of the business. Schwartz graduated with a BSBA from the Sam M. Walton College of Business at the University of Arkansas.
Vice President of Sales
Morgan Smith is Vice President of Sales with Strategy Development and has over 15 years of broad based experience in sales consulting and training. Morgan has spent his career helping world-class organizations execute their sales strategies. Morgan works closely with medium to large organizations in understanding their unique opportunities for improvement and aligning a development program to achieve results.
Morgan has a passion for sales coaching. He co-developed a process for account-based coaching that was adopted by many consulting and financial services companies resulting in significant revenue increase.
Morgan graduated with a Bachelor of Sciences degree from Pennsylvania State University and resides in Wayne, PA.
